Propane-powered school buses start up more easily and warm up faster in frigid weather than old diesel models. Their engines run cleaner, cost less to maintain, are quieter and don’t emit as much tailpipe pollution as traditional school buses.
HDT’s Top Green Fleets for 2017 demonstrate that there’s no single path toward sustainability. Nor are such efforts limited to large fleets, or to a particular type of operations. This is the fifth year we’ve recognized some of the country’s “greenest” fleets with our Top Green Fleets award – and this year, we’ve narrowed the field and made it more competitive, honoring 25 of the most fuel-efficient, environmentally conscientious, alternative-fuel-forward fleets in the U.S.
