Propane GAS Act of 2011
ICF International Study
ICF International just released the results of an independent study entitled "Economic Impact of the Propane Green Autogas Solutions Act of 2011."
The study uses standard economic models and market data from propane autogas fuel providers, vehicle manufacturers and fleet customers. It illustrates how propane used as a transportation fuel can be a cost effective alternative to gasoline and diesel that can help address our nation's environmental and energy security policy goals.
Some of the key findings of the study show that if the Propane GAS Act were to be passed into law:
- It would generate an increase in economic activity, peaking between $4 billion and $5.7 billion per year.
- It would create 30,000 to 42,000 new jobs by 2016.
- It would help to lower our nation's dependence on foreign oil.
