Roadrunner Shuttle Shows Growth with Grand Opening of New Facility Housing Propane Autogas Vehicles

August 30, 2012 — Today, Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine Service, a provider of quality ground transportation services throughout Southern California, highlighted their fleet of shuttle vans and buses fueled by clean, economical and domestic propane autogas at a ribbon cutting event, entitled “Moving Forward with Sustainability in Ventura County” to celebrate a new contract and a state-of-the-art facility.

Roadrunner Shuttle and Limousine Serviceis on its way to achieving its goal to fuel 100 percent of its fleet on alternative energy in order to increase resourcefulness and reduce its carbon footprint. The company, who last year incorporated its first four ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas Ford E-250s has since added 13 new ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas shuttle vans, two shuttle buses and a 2,000-gallon fueling station near its new state-of-the art facility which the company recently was awarded along with a contract by the Ventura County Transportation Commission to provide VISTA intercity bus service.

In celebration of this achievement, Roadrunner Shuttle offered a tour of the new facility aboard propane autogas shuttles, which account for 20 percent of Roadrunner’s fleet, and placed two alternative fuel vehicles on display as part of the “Moving Forward with Sustainability in Ventura County”ribbon cutting ceremony. The company is currently saving nearly $1,500 per vehicle per month thanks to this domestic alternative. In addition to saving money, each propane autogas fueled shuttle van saves more than 37,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually.Propane autogas is a low carbon fuel that reduces greenhouse gases by up to 25 percent, carbon monoxide by up to 60 percent, nitrogen oxide by 20 percent and virtually eliminates particulate matter when compared to conventional fuels.
