What Would You Do With $14 Billion?

Dear Friends of ROUSH CleanTech,

In 2012, we experienced the highest gasoline prices in the history of the United States, up an additional $.09 per gallon from 2011’s average gasoline price. In 2011, our country consumed almost 140 billion gallons of gasoline. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) was predicting lower gasoline consumption in 2012 than 2011, but due to the increase in prices, incremental spending on gasoline in 2012 reached almost $14 billion.

Just think about how that money could have been better spent by keeping it in our own pockets and putting it toward boosting our nations’ economy through the creation of domestic jobs, education and infrastructure … Now is the time for you to choose what you feel is most in need of funding.

That’s why we feel it’s important to recognize our partners who are taking steps to implement solutions to solve this problem. Fleets like DHL Express, Student Transportation, Inc., Sears Home Services, Mesa Public Schools, SuperShuttle and Renzenberger chose to be leaders last year by adopting propane autogas, a cleaner, less expensive, domestically produced alternative fuel. Not only are they helping to reduce how much the nation spends on foreign oil, they are saving thousands of dollars in fuel costs at the same time.

On top of the benefits that alternative fuels already offer, a $.50 per gallon tax credit for propane autogas used as a motor fuel is available with the passage of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012. This allows for an even quicker return on investment!

Let’s see if we can all work together in 2013 to bring that $14 billion sent overseas back home. Give us a call to get started.

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Todd Mouw
