Continued Commitment to Raising the Bar

Happy New Year! We have a lot to celebrate. In 2018, we put more than 4,000 new vehicles on the road. More businesses and school districts across the nation adopted our propane autogas trucks and buses — including Schwan’s Home Service, Inc. and Southern Eagle Distributing and we are proud to have the highest loyalty rate in the school bus market with our partner, Blue Bird.

This past year, we launched several new low-NOx innovations that further reduce harmful emissions. We introduced our ultra-low NOx propane engine for Class 4-7 trucks. This 0.02g NOx engine is 90 percent cleaner than the current EPA’s most stringent heavy-duty engine standard. When this engine is fueled with renewable propane, it reaches near-zero emissions.

In addition, we announced our entry into the electric vehicle market. We will be putting additional demos on the ground with strategic partners and customers as we continue development with a planned production launch in 2020.

Another innovation that will continue in the new year is our pilot connected truck and bus program. We are deploying this technology on a total of 900 propane trucks and school buses to help better understand our customer’s duty cycles. We anticipate using this technology longer term to enable even greater uptime and, therefore, an even more significant operational savings for our customers.

Plus, we’ll continue to keep a close watch on the Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust. Currently, 36 states and Washington, D.C. have finalized their plans, which includes millions of dollars earmarked for school bus replacement.
