Environmentally Friendly

Light-duty fleet vehicles that run on propane autogas emit fewer greenhouse gases, smog-producing hydrocarbons, and particulate emissions than gasoline-fueled light-duty vehicles. When compared with gasoline, vehicles fueled by propane autogas produce:

  • Up to 25 percent less greenhouse gases.
  • 20 percent less nitrogen oxide.
  • Up to 60 percent less carbon monoxide.
Propane autogas results in an estimated 80 percent reduction in smog-producing hydrocarbon emissions compared with diesel-fueled vehicles.
Propane autogas engines produce lower exhaust emissions and are not subject to the anti-idling restrictions imposed upon diesel-fueled vehicles.
