MTA Board Approves $4.2 Million Purchase of 60 Propane Fuel Vehicles

Genesee County will soon be home to one of the largest fleets of green public transportation vehicles in the nation. The Mass Transportation Authority Board approved buying 60 propane-powered mini buses to replace the Your Ride vans, making it the largest propane fleet of any public transportation agency in the country.
The MTA will have 72 vehicles powered by propane following the purchase of the additional vehicles, said Ed Benning, director of the MTA.
