New York School District Lowers Operating Costs, Reduces Emissions with Propane Autogas School Buses

In New York, Washingtonville Central School District transports more than 5,000 students to 28 Orange County area schools, including public, private and parochial. Of their 89-bus fleet, 18 are fueled by propane autogas. Washingtonville was the first district in the county to purchase buses fueled by autogas. The autogas buses travel an average of 450 miles per week, or 18,000 miles per school year. During the summer they transport students to camps and on day trips.
