ROUSH CleanTech Expands Commercialization of Transit Shuttle Buses with New Conversion Partner

September 12, 2012 — This week, ROUSH CleanTech unveiled a propane autogas fueled shuttle bus converted by new industry partner, Green Alternative Systems, at the 2012 BusCon Expo in Chicago, Ill.

Using their existing sales and service channel, Green Alternative Systems (GAS), the largest commercial alternative fuel conversion company in the country, has partnered to provide installations for ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fueling systems in the transit, paratransit and commercial ground transportation markets. ROUSH CleanTech displayed this new partnership at the 2012 BusCon Expo in Chicago, by showcasing a propane autogas fueled shuttle bus converted by GAS, a certified Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier alternative fuels installer.

Built on a Ford E-450 chassis with a 6.8-liter, V10 engine and a 41-gallon propane autogas fuel tank, the ROUSH CleanTech shuttle bushas completed Federal Transit Administration’s New Model Bus Testing Program (“Altoona Testing”) and is certified for sale in all 50 states by the California Air Resources Board and Environmental Protection Agency. The ROUSH CleanTech propane autogas fuel system delivers equivalent horsepower, torque and towing capacity, reduces emissions, virtually eliminates particulate matter and costs 30 to 40 percent less when compared to gasoline.
