Vows, Victory Lane and Propane

CONCORD, N.C. (June 11, 2013) – Roush Fenway Racing’s (RFR) Trevor Bayne is coming off a whirlwind week. Bayne was married early last week in a private ceremony in Ashville, N.C., and followed that with a dramatic victory in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) at Iowa Speedway; earning Ford’s 200th win in the NNS.

This week when they roll into Michigan International Speedway, Bayne and the No. 6 Team – with ROUSH CleanTech riding on their Ford Mustang – will look to accomplish yet another milestone victory; earn Ford’s 1,000th NASCAR win.

Bayne is looking forward to getting the ROUSH CleanTech Ford on the track to see how it will react after the 2012 repaving process at MIS.

“I haven’t run a Nationwide car at Michigan since they repaved it, but the Sprint Cup cars are unbelievably fast,” said Bayne.

Bayne recently tested at MIS in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Sprint Cup Ford Fusion.

“At the test there was one groove, so hopefully that will widen back out,” added Bayne.

“We are thrilled to have ROUSH CleanTech’s message of clean and economical propane autogas hit the track with Trevor as he hopefully continues his winning streak,” said Joe Thompson, president of ROUSH CleanTech. “Across the nation, a growing number of fleets operate on this readily available and domestically produced alternative transportation fuel.”

Propane autogas, the most commonly used alternative fuel in the nation, operates school buses, trucks, vans and taxis.

The marriage between Bayne, Ford, and ROUSH CleanTech is historic. In addition to chalking up Ford Racing’s 200th NNS win while racing for RFR last weekend, Bayne also recorded the manufacturers 600th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win when he took the checkered flag in the 2011 Daytona 500.  With 999 overall NASCAR wins in the books for Ford Racing, the trio has the chance to reach another milestone when Bayne hits the track at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday June 15 at 2pm eastern.
