Propane Autogas E-450 Vans Given Nod for Fleet Placement by CARB

February 22, 2011 — ROUSH CleanTech received California Air Resources Board (CARB) approval for their propane autogas Ford E-450 vans and immediately released 25 vehicles into Southern California. These vehicles will displace more than 500,000 gallons of gasoline and more than 2.5 million pounds of carbon dioxide over their 200,000-mile life for Marquez & Marquez Foods, the first customer to integrate the vehicles into their fleet.

This model carries certification from both the Environmental Protection Agency and CARB, making it top of the line in improving air quality and reducing the public’s exposure to air contaminants. It is available in 2009 and newer model years with the dual rear wheel axle configuration, a 6.8-liter V10 engine, a 158-inch and 176-inch wheelbase options, and 5-speed auto transmission. The system features an aft axle fuel tank with a 41-gallon capacity, and it is backed with Ford’s warranty and reputation for dependability and reliability.
